The Little Queen – Nudity

Just about all the main characters in this story are women (there’s one child and a few supporting male characters and villains), and I am a male writer. But if you are expecting colorful descriptions of breasts or steamy scenes of girls making out, I’m afraid you’ll be very,

The Little Queen Extract (Not As Long)

Just a short scene from the beginning of Chapter Three that gives a glimpse of Tenley’s character.

By afternoon last night’s clouds had all disappeared, sun rays piercing the leafy canopy to where Tenley stood and was refreshed by the warm, gentle touch. She hadn’t slept.

The Little Queen Extract (Long)

Another excerpt from my ongoing revising of The Little Queen, this time a long scene from Chapter Two. I’ve paused working on the sequel for a little while to work on this, although revising has given me lots of thoughts and ideas to use in that too. Anyway, enjoy:

In the lighthouse,

The Little Queen – Things in the Woods

Another excerpt from my ongoing revising of The Little Queen. This is the end of Chapter One, and the first big action scene when Kaya encounters her first Changeling (well, technically she has encountered them before in the story but just didn’t realise it):

Kaya had been trying to sleep,

I finished writing the first completely new scene to the current revision of The Little Queen, so here’s a little excerpt:

“Good,” Stan proceeded to unlock a drawer and count out the cash. “And Cade, if you need a real job, we always need drivers. Last bloke fell asleep at the wheel.”

“I suppose now he’s sleeping with the fishes?”

“No Cade –

The Little Queen Excerpt

Another excerpt from the newest revision of The Little Queen. Basically, Tenley beats up some bullies.

“The hell was that about?” The thick one scoffed. “You freaks in a cult or something?”

“Yup,” Tenley curtly replied. “The cult of not answering stupid questions.”

That confused him,

The Little Queen – Chapter One (excerpt)

Right, from now on I figured I would just post excerpts from each chapter of The Little Queen as I go through revising it. So here is an excerpt from chapter one:

The other sergeant, Daramy, sat in the front and must have noticed the prisoner fidgeting with a small sharp object.

The Little Queen – Prologue

I’m rewriting my first novel, The Little Queen. I am still working on Asterion as well, but I’m at a point in that where it makes sense to rewrite the first one as well as I long wanted to in order to tie some things together (it might be much progress on the sequel for a while as obviously I want to get this done first).

The Little Queen – Prologue, Part Three

We met Jennifer and Kaya in parts one and two, but there’s one other main character in this story so it’s time we met her. Apologies for any errors in formatting – normally I copy things from MS Word with double spacing, but this time I’m copying from Scrivener so some paragraphs may be scrunched together.

The Little Queen – Prologue, Part Two

Part two of the prologue as I’m rewriting my first novel. As I explained last time, this is the bit in which, toward the end, Jen’s dad basically just explains the main theme of the series, and other things that will be talked about and referred to later.  This part is shorter than the first part as well.
