You know you can really tell that J.K. Rowling doesn’t need glasses because with all the crap Harry goes through there’s a lot less glasses cleaning than one would expect throughout the series

There were originally a lot of scenes describing Harry’s glasses hygiene routine in great detail, but a weird editorial decision was made to take them out along with other stuff, like Harry’s visits to the opticians and considering contact lenses and laser surgery.  It was just felt they didn’t advance the plot in any way and didn’t quite jibe with the magical world being created.
