Of course, what’s often left out of children’s books about Space exploration is that Laika was picked up by Aliens who immediately assumed that dogs were the dominant intelligent species on Earth, although they had a hard time deciphering her language.  Some of the aliens started to believe that she was in fact a god and built a massive temple for her, where she continues to live to this day.
