reasons the internet is helpful to me as an autistic person:

• I can communicate without worrying about body language and eye contact
• talking about my interests is encouraged, because it’s easy to find communities who share them and appreciate my thoughts
• infodumping is fine, because if someone gets bored, they don’t have to read what I’ve written
• I don’t have to worry as much about saying the wrong thing, because I don’t have to answer immediately–I can take my time and think about what I want to say
• I’ve found other autistic people who share my experiences, which has helped me feel far less alone
