‘Dog ate my homework’ is often treated as if it’s an obvious lie, but I’m sure it must actually happen sometimes.

It’s never happened to me, but a hamster actually did eat my homework once. I left some books next to its cage and it somehow managed to get its paws on and just shredded them. It also shredded a book on Origami, which it made into a bed so the hamster was better at it than me anyway.
