This really makes me wish there was an animated Phantasy Star series in the 1980s. 

I remember this game – one of my very first JRPGs. At the time I thought it was interesting because it wasn’t just the typical Tolkienesque fantasy I was already used to. There were a lot more sci-fi elements involved, although you are basically using magic and fighting demonic forces still.
