Sapient vs Sentient

Unlike most other sci-fi writers, I insist on
using the words sapient and sentient correctly. That is the one thing I
stand for. The only stand I’ve ever made about anything in my life.

Sentient = Sensing, feeling. Pretty much every animal can sense to some degree.

Sapient = Thinking, reasoning. The kind of lifeform capable of being pedantic on the internet, whereas cats just don’t care about any of this at all.

Which lifeform is better? I don’t know, but this is the stand I’m making.
