Having said all I’ve been saying, I did go ahead and make some revisions to Chapter Seven.  Just because I got interrupted today and couldn’t do all I wanted, so I just went back and added some stuff.  Here’a snother snippet:

Besides
her parents, there were only two other things Sayuri loved; money and sleeping.  But the former had to be her own money – she
didn’t trust anyone else to manage it for her.
The later was the secret of how she seemed so laid back to everyone – she
was actually just very lazy and didn’t want to expend much energy getting mad
at people or panicking about anything.
One day she hoped to have enough money that she could just spend all day
lounging on the arms of a huge sofa like a spoiled cat.  That was a dream she would work hard to
achieve.
